Vacheron Constantin Holds ‘ink Of Crafts’ Exhibition

For the sixth consecutive year, Vacheron Constantin and the French National Institute of Artistic Crafts (INMA) have jointly supported the European Artistic Crafts Days (JEMA). Through these unmissable European events, the public is able to discover the ancient skills and promising futures of talented independent craftsmen.

 For Vacheron Constantin, enhancing the reputation and influence of arts and crafts is not only a promise, but also a solemn responsibility. The brand has been committed to promoting these little-known or forgotten crafts in various ways, so that people can feel the positive energy of these artistic handicrafts in the creative process.
 Vacheron Constantin is proud to be cooperating with the French National Crafts Agency to sponsor the opening exhibition of ‘Handicrafts’ of the European Open Day of Arts and Crafts 2016, which will be held at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, France from March 29th to April 3rd, 2016 ( The Musée des Arts Décoratifs).
 This human “empreinte” (translatable into imprints, marks, or fingerprints, etc.) will be presented in five stages, involving the “geste” (skilled craftsmanship) of 18 outstanding creative talents. :
-Passionate test;
-The mark of creative design;
-Expression of creativity;
-Sharing beauty;
-Rich communication memory.
 The purpose of this event is to confirm the modern nature of arts and crafts and its role in the creative, social and economic fields as they look to the future.
 Vacheron Constantin strives to show the humanistic value of superb craftsmanship, and promotes and cultivates the inherent wealth of arts and crafts through sponsoring exhibitions, and inspires new careers.
 At the international level, Vacheron Constantin is working hard to promote these skills. In Italy, Vacheron Constantin collaborated with the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’ Arte to sponsor the “New Craft” exhibition at the 21st Milan Triennial. As a pioneering activity in the field of global art and design research and promotion, the theme of this international exhibition is ’21st Century: Design after Design’. The exhibition period is from April 2 to September 12. From April 1st to 3rd, the public can also enjoy the performances of creative craftsmen in multiple art studios in the city.
 As for Switzerland, from April 15th to 17th, Vacheron Constantin will provide events in Cantons of Vaud, Jura, Neuchâtel and Geneva sponsor. The European Arts and Crafts Open Day will be held in Geneva with more than 50 institutions and craftsman studios participating. This year, Vacheron Constantin will be fortunate to host an exhibition at the Geneva Museum of Art and History, vividly depicting the delicate connection between art and material, and reflecting the spirit of arts and crafts.
